Japan Photo asked me to document and make a short movie about their “National Photo Walk”, which took place on May 12th, last week. I followed Norwegian photographer Marcel Leliënhof and his group through Oslo, on a very sunny and pleasant saturday.
A challenge I met when filming this, was the strong sunlight, which can make the highlights and shadows too strong, and make it very hard to focus with the LCD screen of the camera, which is the only option when filming with a DSLR. But, with some stratigic camera angles and focal lenghts, along with my newly acquired LCD viewfinder, I managed to get some very satisfying results.
As usual with these types of films, I prefer make them short and concise, with quality over quantity – and the final movie was featured on Japan Photo’s Norwegian website.
The music used in this film is the official song of CeWe Color – which is the biggest photo laboratory brand in Europe, and owner of Japan Photo.
No sentient being needs a reason to want to wander the streets of Oslo in bright sunshine; but if a reason were needed, this video will supply it. It’s happy-making!
